The Ayurvedic Yoga Massage (AYM) method was developed by Master Kusum Modak in Pune, India combining traditional Ayurvedic massage with Iyengar yoga. The method has deep rooted healing powers and works on a physical, emotional and energetic level.

AYM utilises both a deep tissue oil massage and assisted yoga stretches meaning your body gains the benefit of both. The massage element works through any tension or pain you may be holding in your body. The yoga element allows the therapist to stretch out those areas which may have been neglected in day to day life.

The treatments can be tailored to your needs whether that be a relaxing full body massage or specific remedial work. The massage will always start with a consultation so the therapist can understand your needs and your goals for the session. The therapist will work with the client to ensure maximum benefit is gained from each treatment.

Therapists work with breathing techniques to allow you to work through tough areas. This technique is utilised both during the massage and when using the assisted yoga stretches. In working with the breath it allows both client and therapist to connect to their bodies and for those tights spots to be worked through.

It is a very intuitive method ensuring your bodies needs are met. The therapist will make adjustments to the treatment as the see fit and will work with the client to maximise the healing process.

The whole body approach allows you to get in touch with your body and leave feeling grounded and connected. Each part of the treatment has been carefully thought through to provide the best service possible from the music through to the oils selected.

The use of oils and calamus powder allow the therapist to work deep into the muscle tissue and relieve any tension. A blend of oils means you gain the benefits from each and the powder allows the therapist to gain traction when stretching out the muscles

The massage is undertaken on the floor meaning the therapist can utilise their body weight to provide additional pressure as required. It also allows for a wide range of stretches to be utilised during the session.

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage is a holistic approach to healing with the aim of sending you away revitalised, centred and realigned.
